We are pleased to be able to provide a wide range of surgical services here at Williamsburg Vet Clinic. From spaying and neutering to more complicated surgical procedures, we utilize the highest quality of care. Our skilled staff will focus on pain management, the most current surgical practices, and above all, patient safety- before, during, and after your pet’s surgery. Everything we do is designed to exceed your expectations and calm your concerns about anesthesia and your pet.

A skilled team will be designated to your pet on the day of its surgery. To ensure your pet’s safety, they will:

• Perform pre-anesthetic blood panels
• Monitor your pet’s vital signs while under anesthesia and in recovery
• Ensure your pet’s comfort throughout their entire day with us

One of our skilled veterinary technicians will take the time to discuss your post-operative instructions, and we provide a complimentary surgery follow-up visit about a week after the procedure. If any concerns arise before then, we are always just a phone call away.

We take anesthesia and the safety of your pet very seriously here at Williamsburg Veterinary Clinic. We understand that anesthesia is more complex than choosing anesthetic drugs. It is a process of:

• Individual patient assessment
• Pre-anesthetic blood panels to assess kidney, liver and other organ functions
• The use of high-quality anesthetic gas and induction agents
• Patient monitoring by a skilled team
• Comprehensive multi-modal pain management

Our technicians are trained to monitor your pet’s vital signs and ensure the comfort of your pets. This includes regular checks of the heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, temperature and mucous membranes. They also monitor your pet during recovery to make sure they are comfortable. Your technician will go over how the surgery or procedure went and any post-operative instructions with a detailed, written handout to go home with you.
