Laser Therapy

Williamsburg Veterinary Clinic is excited to offer our clients Companion Laser Therapy! Laser therapy provides a non-invasive, pain-free, surgery-free, drug-free treatment which is used for a variety of conditions and can be performed in conjunction with other treatment protocols. In some cases, relief can be seen within hours of your pet’s treatment! Whether your pet is rehabilitating from trauma or injury, healing from wounds, or simply aging, they can benefit from this innovative approach to treating pain.

Applications for laser therapy include: 

• Treatment of arthritis, degenerative joint disease, or hip dysplasia
• General pain management (stiffness, sprains)
• Post-surgery pain
• Skin problems (hot spots, infections, allergies)
• Dental procedures
• Fractures and wounds (burns, bites, abrasions)
• Ear infections

How does it work?
Laser therapy stimulates the body to heal from within. Light is administered to the body and is absorbed by injured cells. The cells then repair themselves at a quicker rate, and this results in relief from pain, increased circulation, reduced inflammation, and an acceleration of the healing process.

How do the pets feel about it?
In even the short time we have had the Companion Laser, we have seen ourselves that pets actually enjoy this treatment! They’ll relax, lean into the warm massage of the laser, and some even lie down and start to doze. Some leave with an extra spring in their step. It can be instantly gratifying for both us and our patients.
